Transport Gig Heritage Exhibition

An exhibition of gig rowing heritage bound for the Isles of Scilly was transported to Penzance Quay by Tripp Removals and Storage.

The exhibition featured interpretation panels, projected images and film screenings which were prepared for a special event bringing together heritage vessels from the islands and the mainland.

As well as enjoying the stories of the old island gigs, visitors to the exhibition also had the opportunity to see the heritage vessels, including Bonnet and Slippen, built by the Peters family of St Mawes in 1830.
